After your first few training sessions, you have the option to continue learning more or take part in the season as a team player.
Watch Videos on Rugby. The videos you see here will give you multiple levels of perspective on the game of Rugby. We here at Gwinnett Lions Rugby Club play Rugby Union-style Rugby.
Grab your Equipment. Rugby is a very low-cost game when it comes to your equipment and gear, compared to many other sports.
Cleats: Rugby cleats are preferred but are hard to find, Soccer cleats are the second choice. Cleats with front-toe studs are not legal in rugby. Metal and rubber cleats are legal.
Mouth Guard: Make sure you mold and have a comfortable mouth guard.
Shorts: Rugby shorts are specifically made to withstand the abuse from playing rugby. This is not needed for your first few days of rugby training. For games or matches it is a must-have.
Option Equipment
Scrum Cap: Head gear that is legal for rugby play that adds additional head protection.
Rugby Body Armor: Additional paddings that are rugby rugby-regulated that are worn under your kit.
Tape: Very big for many rugby players to help stiff and avoid injury of joints and muscles.
You watched all the videos, and you got all your gear together and ready to hit the pitch. What should you do now? Simply show up to one of our training sessions. We train on Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:00 PM at Harmony Groove Soccer Complex in Lilburn.
